Blucher
The Blucher shoe, also known as Derby, originates from the Battle of Waterloo when Field Marshall Gebhard von Blücer Leberecht ordered them to be made for his troops prior to the battle. They can be considered the most formal of men’s casual shoes or the most casual of the formal models of shoes as they are half way between both and can be used with a suit and tie or for casual occasions, adding a touch of elegance to the latter. Colors can be mixed on the quarter and vamp to give the shoe a dandy look. It is a very comfortable, open, wide-laced shoe that has two quarters. Derby shoes can have a plain or decorated vamp including brogue perforations.
